David Morton, an Atlanta native, began his ballet training a bit late at 16 but quickly grew to love it. Primarily training at The Royal Dance Academy in Suwanee, GA, he then attended university at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, performing in such ballets as Cinderella, El Amor Brujo, Don Q, Twyla Tharp’s The Storyteller, and in Cincinnati Ballet’s Production of Romeo and Juliet as the Prince of Verona. In 2016 with New York State Ballet, David performed the roles of Caterpillar and Knave of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland. In 2017, he performed the role of Kai in Snow Queen, Don Jose in Carmen and danced in Carmina Burana. In 2017, he also performed the role of Dracula in NYSB’s original production and as the Snow King and the Cavalier. In the NYSB original production of the Marriage of Figaro, he performed as the Count, as well as appearing in Mozart’s Requiem. Davis is in his second season with the New York State Ballet.
