TAYLA KELLEY

Tayla Kelley grew up training at Draper Center for Dance Education. At age 13 she had the opportunity to perform in a spotlight story on Dancing with the Stars. Starting at age 14, she performed company roles in Rochester City Ballet productions such as Cinderella, The Nutcracker and George Balanchine’s Serenade. She also had the opportunity to attend Boston Ballet’s Summer Dance Program in the summer of 2013 where she was offered a full scholarship to train with Boston Ballet year round under Director Margaret Tracey. During the summer of 2014 she attended American Ballet Theatre’s Summer Intensive where she was invited by Franco De Vita to audition for a year round position at the JKO school. After graduating from Draper Center in 2015 she joined Rochester City Ballet as an apprentice before graduating high school in 2016.  Here, she performed in many productions under the direction of Jamey Leverett and David Palmer.  She is very excited for her first season dancing with New York State Ballet.
